GeM Bid Search: How to Use Advanced Search on GeM Portal

Updated October 2026·7 min read

Quick answer

On gem.gov.in go to Bids → List of Bids and type a keyword, or open Advanced Search and choose: Bid/RA details (bid number), Ministry/Organisation, Consignee location or BOQ title. Advanced Search shows ongoing bids only; no login needed.

GeM’s search can find any open bid in seconds, as long as you use the right box. Here’s how to read a bid number, every filter on the All Bids page, the four Advanced Search options, ready-made search recipes, and what to do when search shows nothing.

Closed bids: change the status filter on All Bids (Advanced Search won’t show them). Your own results: log in and open your bids from the seller dashboard to see technical evaluation, financial evaluation, RA, awarded or cancelled. GeM also has a separate contract search: past contracts show which departments buy your item and at roughly what price. More on GeM tenders →
